Sebastián Lorca Robles
PhD in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena
with the thesis “Study of bismuth oxide, and other metal oxides, as positive electrodes
in zinc batteries.”
2024. Supervised by Antonio J. Fernández Romero and Florencio Santos Cutillas.
Graduated in Environmental Sciences from the University of Murcia in 2018.
Master’s in Renewable Energies from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena in 2019.
My first contact with the world of research was during the completion of my TFM;
Synthesis and characterization of metal oxide electrodes for use in Zn batteries,
supervised by Antonio J. Fernández Romero and co-supervised by Florencio Santos Cutillas.
The positive experience during the development of this work encouraged me to continue
the following year (2020) by starting the development of my doctoral thesis;
Study of Bismuth Oxide, and other metal oxides, as negative electrodes in zinc batteries,
under the direction of Antonio J. Fernández Romero and Florencio Santos Cutillas.
I continued with the development of my thesis within the Advanced Materials
for Energy Production and Storage Group of UPCT as a Licensed Researcher
contracted thanks to the project “Impacts and recycling of devices for energy
conversion and storage: sustainability of industrial production”
(PID2019-104272-RB-C55/AEI / 10.13039/501100011033. Project funded
by the State Research Agency (AEI) and whose responsible researchers were
Antonio Urbina Yeregui and Antonio J. Fernández Romero.
I defended my doctoral thesis in February 2024.
